Happy Crystal Anniversary

On a sunny summer day, fifteen years ago

I walked down a hosta aisle

to become a married woman.

Ten years later....

We celebrated our 10th anniversary by taking a castle tour of Scotland and Ireland. Here we are at Loch Ness. Our fellow travelers thought we were newlyweds because we were so affectionate.

Usually we don't celebrate our anniversary in a big way, but I always make certain that we pull out our wedding pictures and review the day and remember our friends and loved ones who shared it with us.

With some convincing, I got my son to take this photo of us as we are today celebrating with some limeade in our crystal wineglasses.

Happy, happy anniversary to you both!

I love looking at wedding photos, you look so 'country' girlish in those pictures.

And a nice anniversary trip you took on your 10th! Sweet.

Got this comment via email that I wanted to share with all of you:

Love the photos. We remember the day well. I remember thinking how beautiful, brave,
and independent you were. And still are!!! - Aunt Louise

Reply to my aunt:
It was different walking down the hosta aisle alone and then being met at the row of chairs by my husband to be so we could walk the last part of the aisle together.
It fit our situation. My parents (especially my father) were not in favor of my marriage. I guess that's what you mean by "brave and independent". Fortunately, since the wedding, my parents have come around to their son-in-law.

Hi Jelly. I can't believe how girlish I look and I was 28 at the time!

Hi toastie, no, we didn't see Nessie but we did keep an eye out for her!

Thanks, Liz. I think we look like miniature versions of ourselves in the photo on our wedding day. Heh, heh. What happened to us? Your lovely comment is much appreciated!
