Diagnosis eBayitis

Have you sold anything on eBay or craigslist yet? My husband and I have been selling on eBay for about two months. Mostly we have been selling off vintage comic books my dad collected as a kid. We scored big when we sold one comic for $53. It was a volume one, issue one. Whoo, hoo.

This afternoon we listed several items on craigslist for the first time and sold two tonight! We unloaded a dog cage and a wood burning stove for some cold hard cash.

I think listing items on Craigslist is easier than eBay. For one thing, it's free. Can't beat that price! Also, there are no hassles with packaging and shipping things. Interested buyers come to your house to pick up the items and pay you on the spot. Craigslist gives you a masked email address which offers you some protection. I was a bit nervous about having a stranger come to the house so my husband handled that part. Phew. Thanks, honey!

Due to my discomfort around strangers, I vowed a long time ago never to have a garage sale. Over the years to clear the clutter, I've given my stuff away to charity or friends. But now I've got the itch to sell online. Feverishly, I look around the house wondering what could I sell next? Better call the doctor, I think I've got eBayitis.

Before I moved back to Canada from England I sold oodles of stuff on eBay!

It was quite fun. I remember one book sold for three times what I bought it for! I think it had gone out of print though. Still, it was nice to declutter and line my wallet at the same time.

I'm thinking of doing it again. I have waaaaay too many books.

53 bucks for a comic book! Nice!

Yes, we sold some graphic comic books that an old room-mate of the wife's left behind several years ago. She made a nice little profit. It was alot of work, taking the pictures and setting up the account, but it was worth it for her.

Some time ago we were looking for help in our backyard (big spring clean up) and advertised on Craiglist. We got alot of good responses on there also.
And it was an easier set up.

Watch out Tigerman, it may be contagious.

Hi toast & jelly,
It is fun to make money but it's also more work than I imagined, particularly eBay. Of course it's also a letdown when an item doesn't sell.
